I'd decided early this morning that this evening after work I would sit in the garden, read a book and listen to the birds settling down for the night. So at lunchtime this afternoon I popped in WHSmith to see if they had any nice wildlife related books so I would have something to read later on whilst relaxing in the garden.
I found two such books which were slightly different than anything I'd normally buy but their uniqueness appealled to me so I purchased them both to read later on in the evening.

I love Matt Sewell's books! Have you read his others? His descriptions of the birds are just brilliant - there are two "reviews" in my blog this year I think if you're interested, I think it was the Year in Books posts for January and June.
ReplyDeleteLouise, this is the first book I've seen by Matt Sewell, I'll have a look at your reviews, cheers.
Delete'Read a book in the garden' is on my list to do but I'm desperately trying not to buy anything. I fear it's a lost cause particularly when I keep seeing lovely books on people's blogs. I've seen the Matt Sewell books before and they're so tempting!
ReplyDeleteThey both look lovely books, I haven't come across Matt Sewell before so I must look for those. I've seen Hannah Dale's The Country Set and we have some place mats with her art work on and last year we had a calendar which I loved:)
ReplyDeleteBoth books have wonderful images, I would find it hard to resist, I have just bought "A Buzz in the Meadow" as they did not have his first book "Sting in the tail " by Dave Goulson, what I've read so far I think you would like it..

Love the look of those 2 books - My friend bought me "Our Songbirds" by Matt Sewell for Christmas - a great quirky book :) Would agree with Amanda - the 2 Dave Goulson books are really superb :)
